Payment Policy for UX

This Payment Policy explains how payments are processed on UX, the rights and responsibilities of users regarding payments, and the platform's role in facilitating transactions between vehicle owners and renters.

1. General Terms

• Payment Processing: All payments for bookings are processed through UX’s secure payment gateway. Users must comply with this Payment Policy to use the platform’s services.
• Currency: All transactions are processed in the currency displayed on the platform. UX does not take responsibility for any exchange rate fluctuations or fees applied by the user’s bank or payment provider.

2. Payment Methods

• Accepted Methods: UX accepts various payment methods, including credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), digital wallets (such as PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay), and other payment options as indicated on the platform.
• Payment Authorization: By providing payment information, users authorize UX to charge the provided payment method for the total booking amount, including service fees and any applicable taxes.

3. Payment Timeline

• At Booking: Renters are required to provide payment information when making a booking request. Payment is held in a pending state until the vehicle owner accepts the booking request.
• Upon Confirmation: Once the owner accepts the booking, the payment is processed, and the total amount (rental cost + service fees) is charged to the renter's provided payment method.
• Payout to Owners: Owners receive payment for confirmed bookings after the rental period begins, minus UX's service fees. Payouts are processed within 24-48 hours after the rental start date and may take 3-5 business days to appear in the owner's bank account, depending on their bank.

4. Service Fees

• Platform Fees: UX charges a service fee on each booking to cover operational costs, payment processing, and platform maintenance. This fee is non-refundable unless stated otherwise in the platform’s Cancellation Policy.
• Breakdown of Fees:
  • Renter Service Fee: A percentage of the booking total charged to the renter.
  • Owner Service Fee: A percentage of the booking total deducted from the owner’s payout.

5. Security Deposit

• Security Deposit Requirement: For certain bookings, a refundable security deposit may be required to cover potential damages or extra costs. The amount will be specified in the booking details.
• Release of Deposit: The security deposit will be released back to the renter’s payment method within 7-10 business days after the vehicle is returned in the agreed condition, provided no additional charges apply.

6. Additional Charges

• Extra Fees: Additional fees may apply in certain situations, such as:
  • Late return fees
  • Excess mileage charges
  • Fuel charges (if the vehicle is not returned with the agreed fuel level)
  • Cleaning fees for excessively dirty vehicles
• Agreement: Renters agree to pay any additional charges incurred during the rental period. These fees will be charged to the payment method on file.

7. Refunds

• Refund Conditions: Refunds are issued in accordance with UX's Cancellation Policy. If a booking is canceled by the renter within the allowed time frame, a partial or full refund will be issued minus any non-refundable service fees.
• Refund Process: Refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days to the original payment method, depending on the renter’s bank or payment provider.

8. Failed Payments and Chargebacks

• Failed Payments: If a payment fails or is declined, the booking will not be confirmed, and the renter will be notified to provide a valid payment method.
• Chargebacks: In case of a chargeback, UX reserves the right to recover the amount owed and any associated fees from the user’s account or take legal action if necessary.

9. Payment Disputes

• Resolution Process: Users should first attempt to resolve any payment disputes directly with the other party (owner or renter). If a resolution cannot be reached, UX support may assist in mediating the dispute.
• UX Liability: UX is not responsible for resolving disputes regarding payments or refunds but may provide support to ensure compliance with the platform’s policies.

10. Fraud Prevention

• Verification: UX uses advanced security measures to protect user information and prevent fraudulent activities. Suspicious transactions may be flagged, and user accounts may be temporarily suspended for further verification.
• Reporting: Users are encouraged to report any unauthorized transactions or suspicious activities to UX support immediately.

11. Policy Updates

• Changes to Payment Policy: UX reserves the right to update or modify this Payment Policy at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or platform notification.
• Acceptance of Terms: By using UX and its payment services, users agree to this Payment Policy. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
